Baby Photography Frequently Asked Questions
General:
Where do the sessions take place?
The sessions take place in my home studio which is specifically designed to ensure a smooth running and comfortable session.
What if we need to cancel?
Please let me know as early as you can. If there is a genuine reason for not being able to attend, such as the baby being unwell, I will do my best to book a new date for your session, however, all booking fees are non-refundable except in very exceptional circumstances.
Can I see product prices before I book?
I would never want anyone to feel they had been misled into booking and therefore I am very honest about what investment you should expect for your heirloom art products and digital images beyond the session fee. Please see the investment page for more details.
How long after the session will I see my images?
Your images will be edited and prepared for your viewing within 2-3 weeks, often sooner. Each newborn gallery takes 10 hours or more of editing which is all part of the creative process. We will set a date for your viewing and ordering appointment at your newborn session. Any products ordered will be designed at the appointment, saving you time and effort. Full payment is also required at the time of the appointment and I therefore request that all decision makers attend; I endeavour to be as flexible as possible to allow this.
Milestone sessions:
What is a milestone session?
The purpose of a milestone session is to document all those firsts from your baby's first year. The ideal ages for milestone sessions are; 4 months - for those first smiles and expressions, 6 months - for sitting up and 1 year - to celebrate that all important first birthday. The ages are just a guide as all babies develop at different rates. Milestone sessions cost £100, this does not include any products or digital images.
How long is a milestone session?
A milestone session lasts approximately 45 mins to 1 hour as babies under one get very bored and irritable after a short period of time. In my experience this is enough time to get some nice images or your little one without overtiring them.
Can we include family portraits at a milestone session?
Absolutely! I include family portraits at either of the first two milestone sessions if following the baby plan. If booking a standalone milestone session I am happy to accomodate your wishes where possible.
What is different about a one year session?
For the one year session I start with a normal portrait session but for an additional fee, to cover the cake (or bring your own), I can follow this with a cake smash and a splash in a tub to wash off all the mess!
What should we wear?
I provide plenty of outfits for babies to wear that compliment the setups I might use, however, I appreciate that you may want a few images of your baby in their own clothes. I recommend that you bring your baby in an outfit with neutral tones, no patterns and no dungarees. If including family portraits at the session I recommend neutral, coordinating clothing that does not have distracting logos or motiffs. I can help you with your wardrobe choices ahead of your session to ensure you are happy with your portraits.
